With Halloween out of the way, Christmas is right around the corner. It’s time to drag out the boxes and start setting up the usual decorations. But this may be the year to think about taking a new stance with your front patio.
There’s always the classic look that you can go with. Add a big wreath on the door to welcome guests. Wrap red ribbon around any and all columns you may have. Red and green are a must for any classic look that you are hoping to pull off.
If you want new Christmas decorations but don’t want to go out and spend a fortune on them, repurpose some things that you may have laying around the house. Any vintage object that you have outside could be used to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas decoration. If you had something that was originally housing some seasonal plants, use them to hold a tree and some pinecones in the winter months.
Do it yourself projects are fun to do at anytime of the year. Making them during the holidays is even more enjoyable. Add some DIY projects to your outdoor area to create a homey feeling Christmas décor display. The easiest could be to throw a bunch of pinecones in some buckets. Or create your own snowballs with Styrofoam and paint.
Stepping away from the traditional holiday décor can be difficult, especially if you are used to setting out the same things every year. Don’t be afraid to go without the red and green or without the wreath for one year though.
